Gail Sauter - designer of the All-In-One Easels
www.GailSauter.com
I hope you love your All-In-One as much as I love mine. I must admit that, over the course of 30 years of painting, I've had too many painting set-ups to count, and although many were good, none of them were perfect. So when I met Stephen, I asked him if he could build me a pochade box that did everything I wanted. He did! And, then, I decided to marry this smart and talented guy just to keep him around!
One thing that is interesting about our easels is that the pastel easel came first. I'm a Master in the Pastel Society of America and I know how frustrating it is to try to find something specifically designed for the needs of pastelists. Lately I've been painting a lot in oils and Stephen has been building me oil boxes! As a result, after lots of fine tuning, we're very excited to now add the All-In-One for Oils to our product line. Stay tuned because even more equipment ideas are in development!
Happy painting - Gail Sauter

Stephen Sauter - builder and general wizard of the All-In-One Easels
In addition to loving to work in my woodshop, I also have begun to paint (being married to Gail, I say that I paint out of self-defense). So, I am now gaining hands-on experience in using my own easels. We travel a lot to paint, so we have specifically concentrated on creating easels that are rugged and sturdy but also lightweight and sleek in design. We wanted something that easily fit into bags and carry-ons so we didn't want any bulky exterior hardware or cumbersome extra add-ons - and we definitely did not want wing nuts or screws to tighten! Our intention was to create and build the most elegant and useful easel on the market. I think we have succeeded but we are always looking for ways to improve. Please let us know if you have suggestions of features you would like to see added to our products.
We'd love to hear from you. - Stephen Sauter

"I love my All-In-One easel. I have the next-to-largest size and I frequently use it as a studio easel as well as a plein air easel. Here's a photo of it in use, showing how the area under the painting can be used for storing your sketch reference - handy for when you need to catch those quick changing light effects."

Barbara Stevens Adams - Portsmouth, New Hampshire
"Everywhere I go people ask me "How can you carry all your equipment in such a compact box and still have it be so lightweight?" My All-In-One Easel is the most efficient and practical solution for painting en plein air, or for taking gear to workshops that I have found anywhere - and I've looked! I've traveled with it to Italy, France, Mexico and many other places and it always works perfectly no matter what the terrain. Thanks Stephen and Gail, it's a great design and beautifully made. I love it!"

Judith BJ Totman - Kittery, Maine
"I love my All-In-One! One of the best features for me is the fact that I can sit to paint. I can set up my stool for a painting session without dumping my pastels - using the shoulder strap around my waist keeps everything steady. That's wonderful! The 11x14 is the perfect size too. I have plenty of space for all my colors and it is still small enough to be easily portable. I use it both outside on location and in my studio. I can't say enough about this easel - it's perfect!"

Kitty S Clark - Stratham, New Hampshire
"From Italy to Idaho, or in my studio, my easel is perfect for any painting situation. It holds more than enough paper for a long painting trip and plenty of pastels to satifsfy my color needs. It's light weight even when packed to the fullest and set up is a snap. Mounting it on my tripod is quick and easy and there has never been a problem with stability. It is the best in every respect."

"I search woods, fields and shores looking for those special places that spark my imagination and my All-In-One Easel is my trusty companion. It never lets me down. I depend on it to do what it is supposed to do - no fuss, no muss. And it comes through like a champ every time. It is simply the best!"

"I am absolutely thrilled with my easel. It has given me a new lease on my plein air painting life - every morning I'm invigorated and excited to strap it onto my bicycle and head out the door for a day of painting. I use the 11x14 oil slimline, but I'm thinking of getting the new little Traveler size so I can keep it in my backpack and always have it handy for unplanned painting opportunities."
